The whole group (Abisola, Siddiquea, Tangina & I) will be using acting as our performance piece in this Music Video for 'Record'. In a lot of the scenes, especially all the chorus parts (which are repeated around 3/4 times). the four us are onscreen acting as 4 friends going out to have a good time, i.e be it through pillow fights or just messing around outside. There are some scenes where specific members of our group act for example the first verse where it says 'I wake up in the morning..', we're going to have Tangina climbing up the stairs and fall back to land on the bed, but the character switches from Tangina to Siddiquea, so Siddiquea lands on the bed to fall asleep. There are other scenes like this where we individually act parts out. While that specific scene goes on, me & Abisola will be filming/ editing etc. Also we have decided to perform also by dancing to one of the chorus parts, where all of us will be dancing together.
We have already drawn out and wrote about the scenes we are to perform in the music video. Now it is the time to actually practice and film the scenes, so we can later edit it etc. We will have to book the venues we are to perform in so we can shoot as soon as possible, the location contract has been drawn up already, all that's left is to speak to someone to book Alexander House for filming. We will also have to sort, pick and bring in our outfits for the scenes for dress rehearsals etc before the actual performance. The equipment i.e the camera will have to be picked up on the day of the shooting to be used after school. After filming we'll have to take turns to edit pieces of the music video individually, using special effects and programs such as Flash, I-Movie etc, and then create animation to add to our video as quite a considerable amount is animation work etc. So briefly those are the things we'll have to do from now till the performance.
Our group will be holding their first shoot on Monday 14th February 2011 (a week from now). We will be holding a rehearsal before that, at the end of this week, the date/ day to be announced on Wednesday 9th February, as some of us need to see if there are other commitments getting in the way. As we've written/ drawn our storyboards out already, it'll be easier to improvise for the most part of it, but we'll make sure to hold on rehearsal before the official shoot. The rehearsal will be in any room free in the Humanities department. again to be announced on wednesday. The shoot will be held in Alexander House, near the Cafeteria on Harley grove Main Site. The performance dates will aslo be on different days, depending on what scene we are shooting, on which day.
The location of the performance will depend on the venue we are using for that scene, for example our second venue is Ruhena's house where we'll be performing, and taking part in a pillow fight, so the location would be in Ruhena's bedroom, on her bed, In her house. In the same way, the location for the performance of the dance part in the music video will be at Mile End Park, outside. It can be counted as an asset to increase the popularity and interest of our music video, as a wide audience will unknowingly be exposed to our dance. So this will catch their curiosity to wonder 'What is this?' etc. This could help our audience number rise too.
We have briefly spoken about costume, hair & make up in our group, but we will be discussing it in much more detail and decide on what exactly to where etc, in our next production meeting. I will have to check the Production Schedule which we drew up last lesson, for the exact date, but it is during this week, before the first shoot. As for Hair & make up, one of our members' Tangina is has experience in it and is passionate about this, so she may go on to do it for us.
The deadline for all of this is Monday 14th February 2011 (next monday -a week from now) before 3:30, as that's when the first shoot will take place. However some exceptions will be done after next monday for example the editing etc, because obviously we'll have to shoot all the scenes before we edit it, and that won't be before monday.
